This area is a mild, mid-latitude climate characterized by warm-to-hot summers, precipitation with a summer maximum, and mild winter temperatures. Both Berkeley and Terre Haute lie within relatively the same latitudes, however, Berkeley lies in an area stabilized by the poleward migration of the subtropical high and relatively cool water of the Pacific Ocean (Hess, 2013). This brings dry weather to Berkeley. Terre Haute, however, does not benefit from this stability, and continues to experience precipitation throughout the summer months. In the areas of the Eastern United States, this effect is also contributed to by the influence of tropical cyclones. Berkeley, according to www.usclimatedata.com, has its highest precipitation levels during December thru February, which is typical of Csa climates (Hess, 2013). This peak of rainfall that is unbalanced with a typical increase of water demand during summer greatly stresses the water budget, and can result in a sever water deficit during summer months. Californians struggled with this through the summer of 2014, and according to an article by National Geographic, California will struggle with a water deficit of the amount necessary to provide water to 1.5 million homes. This is not only due to the climate of the region, but as it specifically applies to Berkeley,Show MoreRelatedFinal Exam Eco1441 Words   |  6 Pages(Logout) LearnCenter ââ€" º ECO518T022013 ââ€" º Quizzes ââ€" º Final Exam ââ€" º Review of attempt 1 Final Exam Review of attempt 1 Finish review Started on Wednesday, 27 March 2013, 06:09 AM Completed on Wednesday, 27 March 2013, 07:13 AM Time taken 1 hour 3 mins Marks 18/20 Grade Feedback 180 out of a maximum of 200 (90%) Excellent performance, you have clearly mastered this material and are ready to move on. 1 Marks: 1 In the case of agricultural goods: Choose one answer. a. the value of exportsRead MoreEssay on Unit 28: Project3118 Words   |  13 PagesExtended Range Fuel tanks HND Aeronautical engineering qcf Unit 28 Research Project August Patterson Fig. 1 Contents Topic | Page | Abstract | 3 | Assignment 1: | | 1.1 Formulate and record possible outline project specifications | 4 | 1.2 Identify factors that contribute to the process of project selection | 5 | 1.3 Undertake a critical review of key references | 6 | 1.4 Produce a research project specification | 6 | 1.5 Provide an appropriate plan and procedures for theRead More Mgt BSBPMG522A Assessment 1 10 11 1336 Words   |  6 Pagesï » ¿Assessment 1: Theory Questions Student Name: Click here to enter text.
